Oconaluftee Indian Village and Cherokee Indian Museum

The history of the Cherokee people is told at the Cherokee Indian Museum in Cherokee.  Like most histories of the indigenous peoples of the Americas, it is not a happy one but the accomplishments of the Cherokee are numerous and heroic.  If you ever get to Cherokee, NC you really should take a day to tour the museum and the go to the village.

Joanie points out something of educational for Jacob.

Jacob talks with one of the village docents about a large black snake they found near the path.  This was one of the biggest black racers I have ever seen.

Making arrow heads demonstration.

The clan council lodge interior.
